Photinia × fraseri 'Red Robin' Multistem is a striking evergreen shrub or small tree, specially grown with multiple stems to create a beautiful, architectural shape. Combining year-round evergreen foliage with its famous flashes of vibrant red new growth, it makes a fantastic statement plant for borders, lawns, patios and contemporary garden designs.

The real highlight of 'Red Robin' is its colourful young foliage. Fresh leaves emerge a brilliant glossy red before gradually maturing to a rich deep green, creating an attractive contrast across the plant. Further flushes of red growth can be encouraged by lightly pruning during the growing season.

Its multi-stem form gives the plant a more mature, characterful appearance than a traditionally grown Photinia, with several stems rising from the base to support a naturally bushy canopy. It works particularly well as a standalone feature plant or can be used to add height, structure and evergreen interest to a mixed planting scheme.

Hardy, versatile and relatively low maintenance once established, Photinia 'Red Robin' performs best in a sunny or partially shaded position with well-drained soil. Plant somewhere sheltered from particularly cold, drying winds to help protect the colourful young foliage.

Position: Full sun or partial shade. Best red foliage colour is generally achieved in a bright position.

Height x Spread: Can eventually reach approximately 4–5m tall with a similar spread if left unpruned, but can easily be maintained at a smaller size with regular trimming.

Foliage: Evergreen, with vibrant red new growth maturing to glossy dark green.

Flowering Period: Clusters of small creamy-white flowers may appear in late spring.
