What is rootball hedging?
Rootball plants are field-grown directly in the ground and lifted to order during the planting season (typically October to April). Each plant is carefully dug out with its roots and surrounding soil intact, wrapped in biodegradable hessian for protection. This method produces larger, stronger plants at a lower cost than potted alternatives, making them ideal for creating a hedge quickly and economically.

Seasonal availability
Rootball hedging is only available during the colder months, from October through to April, when plants are dormant and can be safely lifted from the ground. Orders placed outside this window will be supplied as potted plants instead.
