Low growing hedging

Low growing hedging is perfect for edging paths, defining borders and creating neat structure without blocking light or views. These compact, easy to manage plants are ideal for both formal and informal gardens, offering year round shape and dependable growth in smaller spaces.

Excellent choices include Buxus sempervirens, which forms crisp, traditional edging, and Euonymus japonicus Green Spire, known for its compact, upright habit. Variegated varieties such as Euonymus japonicus Aureus and Euonymus Bravo add colour as well as structure. For softer planting, Lavandula Hidcote and Thymus Elfin create fragrant, low borders that suit Mediterranean or cottage garden styles.

Low growing hedges pair beautifully with Salvia Caradonna, Nepeta Six Hills Giant, Erigeron karvinskianus and ornamental grasses, which spill gently over the top and soften the edges.
