Hosta 'Big Daddy' is a large and impressive perennial, prized for its bold, deeply textured blue-grey leaves that create a striking architectural display. Its thick, heavily corrugated foliage forms a dense, rounded mound, offering excellent texture and colour in shaded borders. Reaching approximately 60 cm in height with a spread of up to 90 cm, 'Big Daddy' is perfect for creating impact in woodland gardens, mixed borders and beneath trees.
In mid to late summer, tall stems rise above the foliage bearing elegant pale lavender to near-white flowers, which attract bees and other pollinators. Hosta 'Big Daddy' thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers full to partial shade, where its distinctive blue foliage develops its best colour. Easy to grow and low maintenance, this reliable variety is an excellent choice for adding long-lasting structure, texture and interest to shaded areas of the garden.
