Helenium autumnale Ruby Tuesday is a warm, late flowering perennial with rich ruby red blooms that appear from midsummer into autumn. The daisy like flowers have a rounded central cone and attract bees and other pollinators throughout their long season. Its upright habit brings height, structure and vibrant colour to borders, making it perfect for cottage gardens, prairie style planting and mixed perennial displays. Ruby Tuesday is reliable, sturdy and provides a strong splash of late season warmth when many plants are beginning to fade.

This plant is supplied as a young perennial plug around 3 to 5 cm in size. These smaller plants grow on quickly once potted and usually take around eight to twelve weeks to reach the size of a typical 9 cm pot. When your young plant arrives, unpack it straight away and water gently if the compost feels dry. Pot the plug into a small pot using fresh compost and keep the compost lightly moist while the roots establish. Once the plant has grown on and the risk of frost has passed, it can be planted into the garden where it will develop into a healthy, long lasting perennial.
