Salvia nemorosa ‘Mainacht’ is a classic perennial with deep violet-blue flower spikes that appear from late spring through summer, rising above aromatic grey-green foliage. Compact and upright in habit, it adds rich colour and structure to sunny borders and looks especially striking planted in groups. The long flowering period and nectar-rich blooms make it a magnet for bees and butterflies.

It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, flowering best when deadheaded regularly. For a natural, layered border, plant it with Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’ for soft movement and Achillea ‘Summer Pastels’ for gentle contrast and texture.

Sunlight: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil
Position: Ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens, or wildlife-friendly planting
Hardiness: Fully hardy perennial
Height & Spread: Around 45–60cm tall and 40cm spread

Many garden designers recommend planting Salvia in groups of three for a balanced, cohesive look. It helps the plants stand out together and creates a lovely flow in your garden. But don't worry—this plant also looks great on its own or in smaller groupings!
