Salvia greggii Amethyst Lips is a colourful, long flowering perennial with delicate two toned blooms that shift between white and soft amethyst purple depending on temperature and light. Flowering from late spring well into autumn, it brings steady colour, fragrance and movement to sunny borders, gravel gardens and containers. The aromatic foliage adds extra interest, while the nectar rich flowers attract bees and other pollinators throughout the season. Amethyst Lips has a neat, branching habit and fits beautifully into cottage style and naturalistic planting.

This plant is supplied as a young perennial plug around 3 to 5 cm in size. These smaller plants grow on quickly once potted and usually take around eight to twelve weeks to reach the size of a typical 9 cm pot. When your young plant arrives, unpack it straight away and water gently if the compost feels dry. Pot the plug into a small pot using fresh compost and keep the compost lightly moist while the roots establish. Once the plant has grown on and the risk of frost has passed, it can be planted into the garden where it will develop into a healthy, long lasting perennial.
