Dicentra spectabilis (Young Perennial) PRE ORDER SPRING '26

Dicentra spectabilis, often known as the classic bleeding heart, is a graceful spring flowering perennial with arching stems of soft pink, heart shaped blooms. These delicate flowers appear above fresh green foliage, bringing movement and a gentle woodland feel to borders. It thrives in partially shaded areas and works beautifully in naturalistic planting, cottage gardens and around shrubs where the soil stays cool. Dicentra dies back after flowering, returning reliably each spring with a strong display.

This plant is supplied as a young perennial plug around 3 to 5 cm in size. These smaller plants grow on quickly once planted and usually take around eight to twelve weeks to reach the size of a typical 9 cm growers pot. When your young plant arrives, unpack it straight away, water gently, and place it in a bright, sheltered spot for a short time while it settles. Plant out or pot on as soon as possible, keeping the soil moist while the roots establish. Once settled, it will grow into a healthy, long lasting perennial for your garden.
