Aster novi belgii Winston Churchill is a vibrant late season perennial that produces masses of rich crimson pink blooms from late summer into autumn. The daisy like flowers cover the plant in colour and are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Its upright, bushy habit makes it a great choice for adding height and brightness to borders, cottage style planting and wildlife friendly spaces. Winston Churchill is long flowering, reliable and returns each year with a strong display.

This plant is supplied as a young perennial plug around 3 to 5 cm in size. These smaller plants grow on quickly once potted and usually take around eight to twelve weeks to reach the size of a typical 9 cm pot. When your young plant arrives, unpack it straight away and water gently if the compost feels dry. Pot the plug into a small pot using fresh compost and keep the compost lightly moist while the roots establish. Once the plant has grown on and the risk of frost has passed, it can be planted into the garden where it will develop into a healthy, long lasting perennial.
