Polemonium caeruleum ‘White’, also known as Jacob’s Ladder, is a graceful perennial producing clusters of pure white, bell-shaped flowers above fresh green, fern-like foliage. Flowering from late spring into early summer, it brightens shaded areas and adds elegance and texture to mixed borders.

It thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers sun or partial shade. For a soft, natural look, plant it with ferns for contrast and Hakonechloa macra for gentle movement and colour that highlights the crisp white blooms.

Sunlight: Full sun or partial shade
Soil: Moist, well-drained, fertile soil
Position: Ideal for borders, woodland edges, or cottage gardens
Hardiness: Fully hardy perennial
Height & Spread: Around 60–80cm tall and 40cm spread

A graceful, easy perennial that adds light and structure to partially shaded borders.

Many garden designers recommend planting Polemonium in groups of three for a balanced, cohesive look. It helps the plants stand out together and creates a lovely flow in your garden. But don't worry—this plant also looks great on its own or in smaller groupings!
