Lithodora diffusa Heavenly Blue is a low, spreading evergreen perennial with striking electric blue flowers that appear from late spring into summer. The vivid blooms stand out beautifully against the fine, dark green foliage, creating a bright splash of colour in rockeries, gravel gardens, containers and the front of sunny borders. Its trailing habit makes it perfect for softening edges, tumbling over walls or filling gaps in free draining soils. Heavenly Blue is eye catching, compact and offers year round foliage interest.

This plant is supplied as a young perennial plug around 3 to 5 cm in size. These smaller plants grow on quickly once potted and usually take around eight to twelve weeks to reach the size of a typical 9 cm pot. When your young plant arrives, unpack it straight away and water gently if the compost feels dry. Pot the plug into a small pot using fresh compost and keep the compost lightly moist while the roots establish. Once the plant has grown on and the risk of frost has passed, it can be planted into the garden where it will develop into a healthy, long lasting perennial.
