The flowers appear before the leaves, so their colour really shines. As the seasons turn, fresh green foliage follows and later takes on glowing autumn tones of orange and red. It’s an easy, reliable shrub that adds structure and year-round interest to borders or mixed plantings.

This shrub is deciduous, it will lose all of its leaves in autumn before fresh new growth appears in the spring. At the middle - end of March, remove any diseased or crossing branches. Apply a layer of compost around the base of the plant.
