Is Kalmia ‘Star Magic’ easy to grow

Kalmia ‘Star Magic’ is ideal for woodland-style planting or shaded borders. It pairs beautifully with Rhododendron and Azalea for a layered spring display, and works well with ferns and Heuchera to soften the base with contrasting foliage. You could also weave in ornamental grasses for a more natural, airy feel while still keeping that lush, shaded look.

Plant in acidic, humus-rich soil that stays moist but well drained. A sheltered position will help protect buds and foliage from harsh winds. Mulch annually with leaf mould or ericaceous compost to retain moisture and improve soil conditions. Feed in spring with an ericaceous fertiliser to support healthy growth and flowering.
