Common Questions

Does it need support
Yes. Train and tie stems onto wires or a trellis to help it cover the space evenly.

Is it repeat flowering
This variety is typically a main flush in summer rather than repeat flowering, so it is best paired with repeat flowering climbers if you want constant colour.

How do I prune it
After flowering, remove spent laterals and shape the plant. In late winter, remove dead or weak growth and keep the main framework stems tied in.

Planting Ideas

Soften the base with Nepeta, Geranium Rozanne, or ornamental grasses, or combine with a Clematis for a longer season of interest.

More Information

Our roses are supplied planted in a 4L growers pot with compost and are not sold as bare root. The compost contains enough feed for around 4 months. Roses are dormant from November to March, so although they are sent in pots, they may not yet have rooted into the compost. When planting, the compost may fall away from the roots, this is completely normal and will not harm the plant.
If you prefer not to plant straight away, roses can be left in their pots until March, by which time they will have rooted. If kept in pots, water more frequently.
Roses are carefully pruned during the colder months to encourage strong, healthy growth in spring, so plants may arrive smaller than expected. New growth will appear in spring and plants will grow at least 50cm in their first year.
