Ribes sanguineum 'King Edward VII,' commonly known as Flowering Currant, is a deciduous shrub celebrated for its early spring display of vibrant, pendulous clusters of red flowers. Named after the British monarch, this cultivar adds a regal touch to gardens with its striking floral show and easy-care nature.
The most distinctive feature of 'King Edward VII' is its profusion of vivid, crimson-red flowers that hang gracefully in long, drooping racemes. Blooming in early to mid-spring, the flowers attract pollinators and brings a burst of early colour to displays.

This shrub is deciduous, it will lose its leaves in the autumn, fresh new growth will appear in the spring. In late summer, remove any dead or crossing branches. Prune the flower heads to a healthy lower bud.
