Aster ageratoides Ezo Murasaki is a hardy, late-flowering perennial that brings a welcome splash of colour to the garden just as other plants begin to fade. From late summer into autumn, it produces masses of small, daisy-like flowers in a rich violet-purple, each with a bright yellow centre. The blooms are carried on strong, branching stems above neat, green foliage, creating a cloud of colour that attracts bees and butterflies. Compact and reliable, this aster is perfect for borders, wildlife-friendly gardens and late-season container displays.

This perennial is very easy to grow, ensure that you provide sufficient watering through the drier summer months. After flowering, cut the stems to the ground and apply compost or well rotted manure around the base of the plant. This perennial will die back below ground level in Autumn, fresh new growth will appear in the spring
